Crediting and debiting a player

From a player's detail page, the Payment tab lets you move money into or out of their wallet directly, without a payment provider. This is how you compensate a player, fix a mistake, book a deposit taken off-platform, or hand out bonus money by hand.

It is also the single easiest place to distort the numbers the business runs on, because the type you choose changes what the movement means — not how much money moves. Choose it deliberately.

Both forms apply immediately: the wallet balance changes the moment you submit, the movement is recorded as successful, and it is stamped with your name. There is no approval step and no undo button — a mistake is corrected by booking the opposite movement, not by reversing the first.

Crediting a player (top-up)

The deposit form offers three types.

TypeUse it forCounts as a depositTriggers a bonusLands in
FiatA genuine deposit made on the player's behalfYesYesReal money
Correction UpCompensation, a support refund, fixing a shortfallNo — recorded as a correctionNoReal money
BonusHanding the player bonus money directlyNoNoBonus money

What each one does differently:

  • Fiat behaves exactly like a real deposit. It adds to deposit totals and first-deposit metrics, feeds affiliate attribution, and is evaluated for a deposit bonus. Use it only when money genuinely came in and you are recording it for the player.
  • Correction Up adds real money to the wallet but is booked as a correction, not a deposit. It stays out of deposit totals and first-deposit metrics, and fires no bonus. This is the right choice for almost every "make the player whole" case.
  • Bonus credits the player's bonus balance instead of their real balance. It touches no deposit metrics and no affiliate reporting. Use it to grant bonus money outside the campaign engine — and remember it carries whatever rules bonus money carries, not cash.

Choose deliberately

A correction booked as Fiat inflates deposit totals and first-deposit metrics, may pay an affiliate for a deposit that never happened, and can trigger a bonus campaign that should not have fired. A genuine deposit booked as Correction Up is missing from the numbers the business runs on. The money is identical either way; only the meaning differs, and the meaning is the whole point.

When in doubt between Fiat and Correction Up

Ask one question: did money actually come in? If yes, and you are recording it, it is Fiat. If you are giving the player money to fix something, it is a Correction Up. Compensation is never a deposit.

Debiting a player (manual withdrawal)

The withdrawal form removes money from the wallet. It offers two types.

TypeUse it forCounts as a withdrawal
FiatRecording a genuine payout made off-platformYes
Correction DownClawing back an over-credit or fixing a mistakeNo — recorded as a correction

The same principle applies in reverse. Fiat counts as a real withdrawal in the numbers; Correction Down removes the money but is booked as a correction, not a withdrawal. Use Correction Down to reverse a mistaken credit, and Fiat only when a real payout happened outside the platform that you are recording.

A manual debit is refused if the wallet does not hold enough to cover it — you cannot take a balance negative this way.

The "Max Withdrawal" figure on the form is display only

The form shows a maximum withdrawal figure next to the balance. It is a fixed on-screen label, not a limit the form enforces — the real limit is the wallet balance. Do not read it as the amount this particular player is allowed to withdraw.

The note field

Both forms take an optional note. It is internal and does not reach the player. Use it every time for anything that is not self-evidently a deposit — write why the correction was made and the ticket or context behind it. A correction with no note is impossible for the next person to explain, and corrections are exactly what gets questioned later.

Who can do this

Crediting and debiting are gated by permission. An administrator needs the deposit-create permission to credit a player and the withdrawal-create permission to debit one; without them the buttons are disabled. These typically sit with finance and senior support roles. See Roles and access.
