How bonuses work
Campaigns and player bonuses
Two objects, easily confused:
A campaign is the rule you configure — who qualifies, how much they get, what they must wager. It is a template. It holds no money.
A player bonus is one player's copy of that campaign, created the moment they qualify, with a real balance attached. Its terms are fixed at the moment it is created.
Editing a campaign is not retroactive
Change a campaign and only future players see the change. Bonuses already granted keep the terms they were created with. This is the single most common surprise in the system.
The two balances
A player holds real money and bonus money separately.
Real money is theirs — they can withdraw it. Bonus money is playable but not withdrawable, and becomes real money only after the campaign's wagering requirement has been met. Until then it sits in a second balance alongside the real one.
A player who deposits 8,000 on a 100% offer holds 8,000 real and 8,000 bonus, and sees a total of 16,000.
How a player gets a bonus
There are three routes, and they behave differently.
Automatically, at registration
Welcome offers are granted the moment a player signs up.
Because there is no deposit at that point, a welcome offer must be a fixed amount. An offer expressed as a percentage has nothing to take a percentage of and grants nothing. For "a percentage of the first deposit", use a deposit campaign — see Worked examples.
Automatically, on a deposit
Deposit campaigns are evaluated every time money reaches a player's account, whether the player deposited or an operator credited them.
The platform checks every live campaign for a match, and when several match, it prefers the most specific one: a campaign aimed at that individual player beats one aimed at their referral code, which beats a campaign open to everyone.
Keep deposit bands apart
If two campaigns are equally specific and both match the same deposit, which one wins is not defined. Design deposit bands so they never overlap — 10,000 to 50,000, then 50,001 upward — and this never becomes a problem.
A player may hold only one pending deposit bonus at a time. Until it activates or is cleared, a further qualifying deposit will not create another.
By opting in
Some campaigns are offered rather than granted, and the player accepts them. Operators can also credit bonus money to a player directly, which bypasses campaigns entirely.
Currency
A campaign is built for one currency, and it can only reach players who hold a wallet in that currency. A campaign in one currency will never be granted to a player playing in another, even when both are live and everything else matches.
