Badges
A badge is awarded to a player on their own, as soon as they meet a condition — no ranking, no competition, no end date. Players see them under My Badges and My Progress.
A badge is identified by its slug, not by its database id. Changing the slug makes it a different badge.
What a badge can be measured on
Not every condition can be measured, and the ones that cannot are refused rather than approximated. There are three answers:
| Meaning | |
|---|---|
| Supported | The platform records this and awards have been confirmed against real data. |
| Depends on the brand | Correct, but relies on something this brand may not have switched on. |
Supported
bets, spins, wins, wager, deposit_count, deposit_amount, deposit_max, register, verification, play_streak, play_comeback, sportsbook_bets, sportsbook_wager, sportsbook_wins.
Sportsbook requirements count slips placed, amount staked and winning slips, read from the same record as casino play. Cancelled slips are subtracted from the staked amount, so a voided bet does not leave a player credited with money they got back.
They cannot be narrowed to particular games, leagues or sports — a sportsbook bet is not recorded against a game the way a casino spin is. A badge on them covers all sports play.
Depends on the brand
login_streak and comeback read a login event stream that not every brand has switched on.
Why "logged in five days running" is not the same as "played five days running"
Nothing used to record a daily login, so a login streak could only have been guessed at from live sessions — a session that was never closed, or was cleaned up, changes the answer. A number like that looks like a streak without being one.
play_streak has no such problem: the timestamps on bets are a record of which days someone played, so a run of consecutive days is a fact about data that is already there. If you want "came back five days in a row", play_streak is usually the honest version of it.
Awarding
Badges are awarded by a sweep on a timer, not at the moment of the qualifying action. A player who crosses the line gets the badge on the next pass.
A badge is awarded once per player. Re-running the sweep does not duplicate it.
